Pros

They allow you to grow. They give many tools to make this happen.

Cons

Dress code is a little tight. Be nice to have relax day on Fridays.

    I worked at Compass Group USA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    I loved the growth potential and the possibility of advancement. The company realized they were the largest food supplier in the market and could set their own prices and terms. The company seemed very excited that I was there and to get training in place.

    Cons

    My desk was not assigned when I arrived, my mentor was not yet determined, I had to finally go ask the person who assigns computers to finally get my laptop and username/password for training. I realized it was a cube farm which would be fine had I just graduated school and it was my first foray into the corporate world. I realized quickly that I would do well at this job but it would have to be either quick advancement or I would have had to leave. I also didn't figure out what the pay schedule was until after I had left.

    Advice to Management

    Please take some steps to be better prepared when new employees arrive for their first day, especially after delaying their start day by 2 weeks. It didn't appear to be unusual though and was business as usual that everyone was a little confused about what was going on. Be more organized assigning assets and making sure the employees have a space that is theirs when they arrive so they can feel like they belong.
