I worked at CompuCom as a contractor

Pros

Will try like heck to get you a contract, then mostly leave you alone. They seem to have a decent amount of contracts and work pretty hard to fill them.
Very friendly recruiters.
Nice managers.
Decent benefits and very flexible configurations of said benefits.

Cons

Salary doesn't seem as high as market, but that might have just been poor negotiation on my part.
Communication with manager sparse (but that can be okay depending on your comfort level)
Kind of high-pressure as far as taking a contract but will back off if requested

Advice to Management

Reach out occasionally and send a holiday card or something. Or maybe even a holiday party.

I worked at CompuCom full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You can build great relationships with your team. People genuinely care about each other and if you're lucky everyone works together to get the job done. The option to train in additional certifications or other job areas is great if you take the risk and put yourself out to the right people in leadership.

    Cons

The pay is not great, no matter your bargaining skills. The benefits at one point were really good, circa 2008, since then they have migrated most plans to an HSA with small company match deposit. The 401k, as of 2011 was only a 50% match up to 3% of your salary. To be happy and feel complete working here you need to relate this portion of your career as a paid internship.

    Advice to Management

I was always shocked at the buddy system in executive management. Court Square Capital lists the compensation plan for the C-level management and it's greatly out of touch compared to the cutbacks made to key work groups.
Refresh and dial in the strategy plan. Drop the helpdesk business and build a strategic cloud services tower.

    I worked at CompuCom full-time

    Pros

Good health benefits and the managers are good. The only problem is their hands are tied when it comes to issues with the client.

    Cons

I worked in the IT Department at GE Healthcare. GE employees constantly change their minds and never gave CompuCom workers any decision rights, making work incredibly frustrating because nothing ever seemed to get done. You are kept in the dark on many decisions, which made it difficult to be successful. CompuCom's hands are tied because GE is the client & there was nothing they could do. Just a no win situation.
