I worked at Con-way Freight full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Good benefits, (used to be better, but still good). Relaxed working environment. Good company in the less than truckload industry. Used to be best, but still good.

Cons

The senior management made several mistakes, and the company never recovered from those mistakes. The benefits were taking away. Moral gets lower and lower.

I have been working at Con-way Freight full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fair Pay. Plenty of work. Good Benefits. Stable company. Industry leader. Staying "under the radar" and proving yourself dependable and hard working are the keys to survival.
Rocking the boat, is not a good plan.

    Cons

Long hours. Long hours. Long hours. Runs are short, long hours on the dock in extreme weather. At least we get 10 hours off.
Everything is based on seniority, not performance.
Terminal Manager not concerned with late hours we are held at other terminals being used as dockworkers.

    Advice to Management

Annual reviews should be realistic and performed by a supervisor who actually works with the person being reviewed. Reshape bids more often to move drivers off the flex board quickly.
