I worked at Concorde Career Colleges full-time (More than a year)

Pros

Very diverse student population, at least we got free parking in PDX
Close to the Max line

Cons

no time to prep- work - work -work
Now the students start at 0730-1200 1230-500 1/2 hour lunch break give me a break
Administration has no clue what Recruitment is doing or who they are bringing in, if the students have a pulse they are in- it's So number driven. did I mention that the teaching staff is on the bottom of pecking order. If you say anything that might be interpreted as constructive- watch out.
Supplies are in short order- seems that new carpeting is more important than copy paper.

Advice to Management

Get a clue- the staff is so over worked and all you do is hold meetings and eat
Listen to staff--no wonder the MA program has lost 6 instructors in the past year - maybe it's time to replace the PD??????

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Concorde Career Colleges full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is room for advancement if you are in with the right people, and that is difficult.

    Cons

Very unorganized, causing confusion for employees AND students. No clear direction or guidance. Periodic layoffs due to poor budget forcasting. Treatment of staff.

    Advice to Management

Value all of your employees, executive or not. Do not just say you value people, show it. Do not pass work off on others. Get organized. Value your students and their education. Stop throwing away money and control the budget. Corporate likes to fluff up the companies future although students are dropping out.
