I worked at Concorde Career Colleges full-time (More than a year)

Pros

The company is mission based with a strong set of values that are well understood at the senior management and middle management level.

Cons

The proprietary education industry is highly regulated with more regulation likely to be developed by congress for the industry.

Advice to Management

Expand product offering and locations for scale purposes.

I worked at Concorde Career Colleges full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Full benefits package; you get your own office that has a door (but that's pointless because they want you to keep it open practically all the time); you get a one-hour lunch, I think that's the standard. Sometimes they also provided lunch.

    Cons

Basically no training; expect to be micromanaged; forget about loyalty; they don't practice what they preach; administration/management is horrible and unfair; expect daggers thrown at your back and don't expect them to have a spine.

What I didn't like was they heavy advertisement of clinical programs that are only offered 1-2 times a year with super-limited seats, yet they wanted us to enroll monthly 'cores' - Medical Asst., Medical Administration, and Dental Assistant. The problem came in that 99% of leads want clinical and we have to switch them to core program...they called it 'correlation' and doing 'what's best for the student'.
Ex: a person comes in and wants Dental Hygiene...it's offered 1x/yr with 24 spots...convince them to enroll in 8 month Dental Assisting, but they don't want that. The company doesn't train you at all on how to get a logical-thinking adult to change their mind from something his/her heart is set on (ie being an RN or an LVN or a Dental Hygienist) to something they really don't want (ie Medical Assistant or Dental Hygienist) and spending $16k-$20k to do so.

Oh yeah, it doesn't matter if you stay past your time shift to help a student (which you'll have to do), because the next day they expect you to be there at your normal time.

    Advice to Management

Actually exhibit and display company values through YOUR actions with employees and treat everyone fairly (not have favorites)
