I have been working at Convergence Marketing as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent training, out of twenty or so company workers only found one person rude and unpleasant, typical control freak behavior, she didn't last long. Flexible hours, low stress, good communication when the need arises.

    Cons

All jobs are contracted to the merchandiser who is essentially freelance. Jobs in your geographic region are posted and you take the ones you like via first come first served. Most jobs are short and last an hour some may take several shifts over the course of a few days. And the job may be a once only type of thing or a quarterly or annual type of event. So your work is feast or famine depending on how far you have to drive etc. Most folks work with-in a fifty mile radius of their home. You only get fuel compensation beyond that distance, not when you just hit fifty miles driving for the company rather only when you have to go further than fifty miles. So with the high cost of gas and maintenance of a vehicle they save lots of money and you have to take it out of your hourly pay which can at times put the gig under minimum wage.

    Advice to Management

Pay all mileage for your reps and most of the other problems with staffing would end. Lots of good people come and go, but most leave because its to costly from the operations side of things for merchandisers.

I have been working at Convergence Marketing as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Great group of supportive people around you and hard work is recognized.

    Cons

Not a consistent flow of work so suggest gaining employment with another merchandising firm to supplement.
