I worked at Convergys full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

The training period was long and attempted to be as comprehensive as possible. The senior staff were honest about what we could expect on the floor and what advancement opportunities we had available to us.

Cons

There seemed to be a lot of mixed messages once on the floor. Striking a balance between resolving customer issues and getting through calls was constantly an issue. Management was inconsistent. Work/Life Balance was virtually nonexistent. However, there are plenty of opportunities for tons of overtime and bonuses for those without close family or friends.

    I have been working at Convergys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    working at home
    no commute time
    Some really great middle managers

    Cons

    low pay rate
    no utility reimbursement
    frequent wide system issues that effect productivity (and your performance pay)
    expensive benefits
    your just a replaceable cog in a machine instead of a valued employee

    Advice to Management

    invest time in to internal software QA take time to treat your people from TL's on down as people not just tools.

    I have been working at Convergys full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    great job for unmotivated kids or people who are still thinking what to do with their lives. the perceived pressure of the job is underwhelming and the ability to "succeed" is strictly up to the candidate

    Cons

    the lack of management and the high school atmosphere with rampant hormones is interesting to observe. but in a place of work gets quickly tedious

    Advice to Management

    some metrix are important but it seems that customer service is mutually exclusive
