Pros

good benefits and good location.

Cons

you will have to know someone there to get a job security. This place runs by the fear and fire. No incentive or no motivation. Very low on morale.

Advice to Management

You will have to wake up. You are no better than anybody else.... Treat the people like the way you want to be treated....

I worked at Cook County Treasurer's Office full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The CCTO oversees the second-largest property tax collection and distribution system in the United States. Working under the leadership of Maria Pappas, who has successfully initiated cost cutting efficiency to the CCTO. Through cross-training, the staff is trained in various departments. A vibrant, service-oriented office that develops and uses the latest technological tools for greater efficiency and economy.

    Cons

Reduced staff from 250 employees in 1998 to 89 employees in Fiscal Year 2015, a reduction of almost 65 percent. While the reduction over the years has been successful thus far, it seems as though there will definitely be a point of diminishing returns as the office reaches peak efficiency.

    Advice to Management

Submitting 14 consecutive reduced budgets is a notable accomplishment, and the benefits of continued cost-cutting will hopefully be sustainable (vs. looking good cutting $, at the expense of counterproductive staff cuts.)
