I have been working at Copart full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

No Weekends, time goes by quickly

Cons

Weak culture and poor morale; Regional manager is a clone trying too hard to be in the boys club. Should have stayed a secretary...Company has strong operational programs in place however are very weak on training. Rely on weak asst. managers that know how to do the tasks but can not explain and train properly; GM hides in office avoiding customers; arrives late every day and leaves early...lead by example! Waited daily after 8:00am for someone to show up with keys to get in, unless RM was in town, then they were on time....Majority of people are afraid to make a mistake because management thrives on pointing out errors. GM stated company is not what it once was, told me i should have looked elsewhere for employment if i wanted to be happy....LOL

Advice to Management

RM Look harder at your teams...rug is being pulled out from under you and you cant see it....just because the P&L looks OK, don't assume everything really is...If you only knew

    Pros

    The best reasons to work at Copart was the people, the family environment and the challenges.

    Cons

    Change in leadership mentality has brought about outsourcing and the elimination of jobs. While it makes good business sense in some cases, every case should be carefully analyzed before making the decision. Don't outsource for the sake of outsourcing!

    Advice to Management

    Take care of your employees and they will take care of the company. Willis lived by these words. You would do better to follow his example.
