    Great Company, Great Benefits and Lot's of opportunity to advancement if desired

    Cons

    Contract work with state agencies so work history could be interrupted if new company does not pick you up. Hard to recruit for positions in regards to providers

    Pros

    Pay is reasonable and 'punching the clock' is required, no overtime. Wide variety of medical issues- the prison positions are a mix of family practice and Emergency Room.

    Cons

    Benefits (only 1 health insurance company to choose) are costly. Physicians and their clinical decisions are ruled by onsite and regional nursing staff. Patient care decisions are primarily based on: cost, saving the client (State) contract, and political bias. Provider (physician or NP) must have a broad knowledge of ALL aspects of medicine or ability to self- educate and are held responsible for almost all clinical...

    Advice to Management

    Protect your providers and support them with resources to appropriately care for patients. Do not allow political bias to sway the care given to patients. Nursing and Operations staff should not have the power to dictate patient care or provider practices.
