I have been working at Cornell University part-time (More than a year)

Pros

I really enjoyed my time at the Cornell university library. I got to work with great people and do really fun and interesting projects. Everyone I met was excited about their work and helpful.

Cons

The library is very old school and resistant to change. It's hard to get some people to see the new and better ways of doing things that technology allows us. Some staff members have been working there for decades. This probably isn't as much of a problem any more with the staff reductions that happened after the recession but still could be.

I worked at Cornell University full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Generous in allowing me 4 years of leave time, pay for a physics grad student much higher than most universities, has community activities like the winter party where the first years put on skits.

    Cons

Professors are very distant in classroom setting, I wanted to do a research project that was in another field with a physics professor but couldn't.
