I have been working at Costco Wholesale full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great pay for retail including paid sick and vacation time. Great health benefits with vision and dental.

    Cons

Nepotism and favortisim fun rampant. Difficult to advance unless you are ready to pick up everything and move. No training in terms of advancement. Staff level management has an inflated sense of self and barely communicates with the hourlys. Members are allowed to be abusive to staff and when the make a big enough scene the are rewarded with free food court items. The schedule is never posted on time and it will still get changed after that. The guidelines in the employee agreement are a load; seniority means nothing and the only way to gain experience is to be a kiss-up.

    Advice to Management

Nice Porche do you have to flash it around everytime you visit? Meanwhile I get suspended over forty dollars while putting my Veteran husband through school.

I have been working at Costco Wholesale full-time

    Pros

Great work/life balance; Decent Benefits, Google shop, not a Microsoft one

    Cons

Costco is behind the times in what it offers new hires. They need to re-examine this in order to get back into the game of hiring top notch people.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. We have a fairly good idea of what else is going on in the industry. If you don't listen to what your current employees are telling you, you will lose out on fantastic future hires.
