I worked at Cotton On full-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Get to wear what ever you want....Get to listen to the music you want to hear with an ipod.

Cons

Schedule switched every other day, Store Manager left super early, and (He/She) would get mad if you worked any overtime, yet (He/She) would work 46+ hours. At times you get to go on lunch 2 hours after clocking in, and at other times after your 6th hour.

Advice to Management

Don't be two faced....

I worked at Cotton On full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - 50% discount that you can use 20-times/month on whoever.
    - cotton on foundation helps a lot of good causes.
    - you can suck at your job and theyll never fire you.

    Cons

    - people can suck at their job and theyll never get fired.
    - store managers can not hire, write up, train their team. only develop.
    - unreasonable expectations.
    - keyholders, assistant manager have same responsibilities(minue schedule making) as store managers, but less pay.
    - typically only one person scheduled in the entire store a any given time.
    - shipment allocation is horrible.
    - customer service is secondary to shipment and merchandising.
    - little to no support from anyone above the store level.
    - company has horrible communication. corp merch team will tell you one thing, dm another, so you switch things back and forth daily- and pointlessly.
    - high turnover due to lack of pay/hours.
    - no bonus plan.
    - no overtime.
    - incentives are of low value and unless youre in california, you rarely have a chance to win.
    - excessive and redundant paperwork
    - understaffed management due to high turnover makes it near impossible to take vacation time.
    - lp is hardly a focus, but mgmt will be reprimanded for high shrink results.

i have barely scratched the surface of what is wrong with this company. simply put- stay away. im not sure how they were successful in australia- but it does not work in america.

    Advice to Management

change the way you do EVERYTHING!
