    Pros

The mission of the company is commendable and the genetic counselors are very good at what they do. There is a lot of satisfaction in helping a family make informed decisions based on tests. Insurance is starting to cover genetic testing.

The turnover is incredibly high and the atmosphere is highly stressful. The measures for hiring talent is very narrow and all the positions are based on the same criteria so that the best performers may be overlooked and under perfomers may be hired. A collegue who has been successful all his life applied for a position simultaneously with me and was turned down because he "failed a test". He is with a different company now and adding incredible value to his company.

    Advice to Management

Hire a consultant that knows how to hire and retain happy employees. Look at consultants who drive "best companies to work for..."
