Current Employee - Shift Manager in Grove City, PA
Current Employee - Shift Manager in Grove City, PA

Pros

You learn about teamwork, along with an array of information. How ordering is done and vendors arrive. Skills you can take with you for the future.

Cons

It is very hard to move up and grow in this environment. The pay is low and raises take awhile to kick in.

Advice to Management

The leadership is average but the shared information is terrible. In order to learn anything new you have to ask management about it.

I worked at Country Fair part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good teamwork with long-time coworkers. Seeing the regular customers. Can easily move up to shift manager.

    Cons

Management was awful at my store, not understanding or appreciating employees. She had temper tantrums, swore, and was way too emotional. The job sucks or is ok, depending on who your manager is. Very small raises at reviews, if you ever got one. Hard work (especially in food prep) with little pay. You won't know your schedule until the end of the week before.

    Advice to Management

Support employees, don't belittle them. Make notes of exceptional performance in an employee's file -- going the extra mile for a customer, staying late when asked, filling in for an absent employee, etc.
