I worked at Cox Communications as an intern (Less than a year)

Pros

Lots of problem solving opportunities
At the time the work they were doing in the wireless telecom sector was exciting

People did not seem to interact and be friendly very much
Distinct divide between out-sourced workers and others
No unified direction, did not seem open to new or different ideas

    Pros

Cox is a great company to work for. They appear to genuinely appreciate employ imput at all levels of th decision making process. Retirement benefits are no doubt abobve average and medical is probably about average for a company of similar size and status. Management varies depending on who you work for but overall mangagement seems to be comprised of good people promoted from within.

    Cons

Generic cons you would expect from any other corporation. No deal breakers.

I worked at Cox Communications full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Loved the culture, the people that worked there and the benefits were top. My job expectation were clearly laid out but I had the freedom to explore other aspects of the company as related to my position.

    Cons

Company consistently hired externally for manager jobs, really did little to provide career advancement. New products were typically half baked when launched. Centralized product development had zero real world experience and consistently failed to ask the feet on the street for input when developing products.
