I have been working at Cracker Barrel part-time

Pros

Most people that work there are very helpful, and the management team is wonderful. There are good opportunities for advancement if you're a hard worker. Environment is very fast paced which can be a pro or con. Flexible scheduling if you notify them in advance. Can have good hours, but after christmas is VERY slow (but that's everywhere).

Cons

Can be long shifts with little to no break, more often then not there's not time for a break. They dont tell you that you are expected to work passed your cut time if they're really busy. Dont expect to see to much of your family on the holidays, they're extremely busy and its all hands on deck with little to no exception. You can be cut early if they're not making projected sales, but most times they dont call in extra help when busy, they expect you to keep up and make due.

I worked at Cracker Barrel full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Ability to turn tables fast and create regular customer base.
Prices are low so it is easy to upsell.

    Cons

Customer base is less afluent, tips reflect low cost of dining there.
Management is OCD about minimizing costs.

    Advice to Management

Put more time into training new employees, and less time worrying about the labor costs.

I worked at Cracker Barrel part-time

    Pros

-All about the customer's experience, goes out the way to make customers happy
    -Decent discount

    Cons

-VERY strict with everything. Down to the way you hold the ice pitchers, to the way you pour the drinks
-All about speed "order on the greet", which can make you feel rushed and not connect with your customers
-Clientele doesn't tip well. Low cost menu=lower tips
-Co-workers are extremely childish and catty. Seniority wins there, and if you're new and others get in your way, good luck, management will NOT care
-Coworkers would do things such as mess up your side work, steal your rolled silverware, bump into you as well.
    -Ugly uniforms

    Advice to Management

    -Stop showing favoritism, be fair.
