Pros and cons for working at Cracker Barrel

    Pros

Some of the benefits of working at Cracker Barrel is the people you meet, the food and the nostalgia of the place. You can make good money by the relationship with regular guest by giving excellent care.

    Cons

Some of the downsides of working at Cracker Barrel is the lack of compassion of the managers. They all seem to speak the same Cracker Barrel lingo. But disguise and cover for one another while using intimidation tactics to drive their team. They call it "coaching. But they will bully to try to gain submission. It is hard to get an opportunity to get a drink of water, food or even go to them bathroom because they are constantly on us. Micromanaging our every move. There is a running joke around Cracker Barrel that if you drop dead the managers will step over your body to make sure you are clocked out. They do not care about our health. They run us so hard that after your done with your shift you have nothing left to give. They will overload the buss tubs and still expect us to carry it. And not be willing to lift it themselves. They have us tipped employees doing various jobs ( Ex. Hosting, carry out orders, and food preparation to name a few) that a normally hour positions, while simultaneously clocked in as a $2.13 a hr plus tips position. They all use the same Cracker Barrel lingo stating we are family. I want to ask, is that how you treat your family? It is a very toxic and unhealthy environment. They often take advantage of people in their vulnerable circumstances. Poor work life balance.
