I worked at Crain Communications full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Employee reviews, regular business reviews by management, technology upgrades/investments. Management consistently looks for ways to improve business and revenue. There is also a sense that management has genuine regard for employees.

    Cons

Can be highly political and tends to be staffed a bit too lean. This inhibits the best possible performance from most employees. Communication between business units tends to happen in silos. The political nature can also prohibit them from addressing areas of concern that could better benefit all.

    Advice to Management

Continue to conduct employee surveys and take meaningful action against results.
