I have been working at Credit Suisse full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

CS is not bad of a Company, depending which Division/Department you work for. The culture differs a lot from division-to-division. If you are working on the Business-side, you might like it, and just fit-in (of course, at the end of the day, what really matters is your Manager who can make or break your life). But the Business in any Bank is seen as a God; so the I feel the culture and etiquette is different. If you are working in the IT, its not that different from other IT divisions of other Banks I've worked for; its typical and mediocre at its best!

    Cons

Pathetic Management (esp Compliance IT); Precarious Management 'strategic' policies, which changes from year-to-year, as the Management itself changes every year - this demoralizes the employees. A lot of cost-cutting activities; off-shoring and outsourcing; IT is seen as a cost.

What really sucks is the lack of growth opportunities (as the bank from past 3 years is only interested in cost-cutting); there is no team building and collaboration; as I say, IT is mediocre at its best!

Let this not be your only review; read other comments, as everyone's experience differs, and you need to average-out your perception about this one bank, whose brand image has eroded, at least in my sight!

    Advice to Management

    Kindly Quit your job!
