Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Credit Suisse full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Well renumerated and I gained a great deal of experience in a fast paced high pressure enviroment.
Good place to gain exposure to many aspects of the business

Cons

The working culture can be a bit brutal where personal survival and neopotism seems to trump the greater goals of the business
Long long hours

Advice to Management

Allow the teams to do what they do best, cut a few people from the top. You have a very talented pool of staff if you would just let them work.

I worked at Credit Suisse full-time

    Pros

Reputable firm, good support staff, pleasant working space environment

    Cons

    Limited career growth, office politics

    Advice to Management

Junior level staff pigeon-holed to junior level work even if they had the capacity and ideas to contribute at a more senior level. Very restrictive for career development, need more merit-based performance assessments.

I have been working at Credit Suisse as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

A good name with an illustrious past.
    Looks good on your CV

    Cons

    Outsourcing gone crazy.
A consultant can only stay for 2 years. He must then leave for a min of 6 months. Thus there is a very high turnover of staff and knowledge in all projects. 100% turnover of staff is not unusual.
    Very weak middle management
Simple things take weeks to complete.....but it is all standardised and documented.

    Advice to Management

Your approach to outsourcing is only saving money because less and less is getting done. Doing less is always cheaper. CMMI is also a costly exercise which adds nothing to the efficency of IT projects.
