    Pros

    1. Growth within organization
    2. Great people to work with
    3. Pay is fair
    4. Meets schedule demands

    Cons

    1. Upper management is not connected with hourly staff
    2. Industry is hurting financially, but this bare minimum approach is very stressful

    Advice to Management

To make money you must take care of the people that work hard for you. Do not try to also re-event the wheel every time there is a issue. Instead work with your staff to improve process that are already in place. Also provided the tools that are need for the staff to get the job done.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Well, its a job in the hospitality industry.
Any job is a plus, I suppose.
Good experience with a completely screwed up hotel.
    The GM is very knowledgeable
Overall a fun place to work, if you don't take anything seriously.

    Cons

    Mandate 50 hour work week
    Zero work/life balance
They treat you like a child by micro-managing
You can meet all of your goals and they will still micro-manage
They don't believe you if you make all of your prospecting calls - you need physical proof
HGI Chicago will have 100% turnover within the year because of the DOS
The accounting department has the most unfriendly people to work with, who are just not team players
Most departments have no idea what to do when something goes wrong
    zero accountability

    Advice to Management

Overall management is not knowledgeable of the Chicago market. Its laughable when they send in a corporate employee, because they don't know anything - I have no idea how these people got hired.
