I worked at Crocs full-time (More than a year)

Pros

- A lot of freedom in terms of scheduling
- All hiring decisions were your own
- Responsible for EVERY aspect of your business
- Location was yours to run with minimal oversight
- Special events were a ton of fun

Cons

- Product arrived after start of season (mammoths came in late November, Athens not until May)
- Focused too much on Kiosks when in-lines could have been phenomenal
- Unable to order your own product, relied on what the warehouse shipped out
- Sometimes difficult to juggle on-site and off-site storages
- High turnover due to low pay for hourly
- Jibbitz, Jibbitz everywhere!

Advice to Management

Focus more on your specific market. Not having hometown sports-themed shoes hurt when people asked for them constantly. Allow managers to order for their own store, instead of sending a bunch of styles/sizes that weren't needed.

    Pros

Great people and very competant at and below the manager level. Plenty of autonomy to make new processes because it is so new and young (as long as you know what you are doing). Executive management is extremely intelligent and capable and does drive the company to do its best. Open atmosphere. We have good social times in the office that help people work together and get to know others. Executive management listens to managers and sub managers more now that they have realized that that's where the information is at. Directors have agendas, policy walks (sub managers) have information. Executive management is making better business decisions and listening to more people.

    Cons

"Right Now" mantality of directors that want information that is actually not relevant to business making decisions. Directors are fearful of management because they don't know how to take action on failing items. Directors don't have confidence in the people to move up in the company but those those employees are the most knowledgeable about the company. I hope executive management starts to realize that.

    Advice to Management

Directors need a second look on whether they are the most capable people in those positions to being making decisions. I think a ROI evaluation needs to be reviewed to see if those people are making a difference in the company or a drain on the bottom line.
