Pros

If you did your job "properly", you see/hear your supervisor 1x per week. When properly staffed, you work 50 hrs per week, benefits were very nice (including tuition reimbursement). Salary, for me, was at top of scale. Training. Structure. Execution

Cons

Inconsistency of upper management communication and expectations. "Job enrichment" was a serious downside. Unreasonable hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly expectations based from micromanagement. Not allowing MANAGERS to do the managing. Advancement involves getting performance based results by iron fist methods, not shy of back stabbing and disrespect of direct reports. Insane hours and burn out are major factors for turnover ratio.

Advice to Management

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

meeting interesting people through customer interaction----being part of a retail store that offers the community many good 'buys'

    Cons

managers who need classes on proper interaction with employees ---a general 'lording over' from incompetant managers

    Advice to Management

take some classes on how to treat people with respect and learn how to delegate properly when assigning tasks instead of playing favorites--listen to valid complaints and act upon them

    Pros

If you want a laid back job without the stress of having to meet quotas or sell people something they don't want, then this is for you.

    Cons

They don't pay you that well, but it's better than minimum wage. I was getting about 8 an hour

    Advice to Management

I loved my managers, they were really good at what they did!
