I have been working at Curtiss-Wright Flow Control full-time (More than a year)

Pros

All products are designed and built within the same facility. There aren't very many places where you see the entire life of a product from design to manufacturing.

Cons

Because of all of the government work done, excessive paperwork is mandatory. The pace of work is drastically affected by the paper associated with each job.

Advice to Management

Offer a hands-on apprenticeship program

I worked at Curtiss-Wright Flow Control full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Interesting work with the ability to see a direct benefit of the technology being applied. Opportunities for a advancement exist for those who seek it out.

    Cons

Given the broad expanse of the company, it's sometimes difficult to determine the direction and priorities are, especially as it relates to your area responsibility.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Curtiss-Wright Flow Control full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pays reasonably well for the area. Challenging and interesting product line. Lot of great vendors to work with and the majority of rank and file are good to work with.

    Cons

Management did not grow when the company was bought by Curtiss Wright Flow Control so the small business (mom and pop dictatorship) remained.

    Advice to Management

Get HR out of the management circle, they shouldn't be running the company; they are not qualified; this is laziness on your part. HR exists to fill out paperwork and see that employment laws are followed.
Quit promoting and punishing by emotional whim; this is a junior management mistake and you will eventually kill the company. Word is already getting around.
You're got a great bunch of folks, help them do their work; quit micro-managing them.
Send your managers to school, most of them don't even have an undergrad degree and at least one doesn't even have an associates. (This is what I mean by "Quit promoting by emotional whim.")
Good luck to the good folks there. I know most of you are unhappy but maybe somebody from CWFC will get their head out of the sand and get you some good managers.
