Pros

Good place to work with an overall good benefit package. Under Mr. Benante's leadership the management team has grown the company to over $1.5 billion in sales. Very positive attitude.

Cons

Somewhat limited to growth opportunities unless you are in the inner circle, which is probably no different than any organization. Some divisions have reached a growth plateau.

Advice to Management

The General Managers and VP’s of some business units need to lead their groups and stand up to Sr. Management once in awhile instead of being more concerned of their bonuses. They need to listen to the employees.

I have been working at Curtiss-Wright as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Great experience for co-ops to learn about three different types of engineering.
CW's priority of quality products can be seen in every department. Truly amazing things are being created here and since the shop is connected to the offices, there is direct communication between design engineers, MEs and shop-workers. Plus everyone is passionate about their work - and the effect on the navy.

    Cons

Due to high quality requirements everything happens slower. Oftentimes this type of environment leads to co-ops staying for only one term (a good way to weed out people who actually fit the environment)

    Advice to Management

The qualitative benefit of hiring co-ops is more than familiarity with the plant; returning co-ops feel at home with this unique environment. I'm sure the retention rate between full time workers with 3 co-op rotations and new hires is significantly different.

    I worked at Curtiss-Wright full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good people. Decent job. Good benefits

    Cons

    Poorly managed, unrealistic expectations

    Advice to Management

Clean house in the offices and start over with management that knows what they're doing.
