I have been working at DCM Telemarketing part-time (Less than a year)

Pros

Comfortable working environment, lunch area and flexible work schedules.

Cons

Consistently horrible leads means no chance to earn a decent living. Besides the low commission there are no other incentives to strive for. You can make over 400 calls a day and make contacts which are lucrative for the company but, not for you. Telemarketers here essentially become drones making hundreds of calls a day with little or no chance to call from good leads. There is only so much drive you can muster calling answering machines all day long before you lose steam.

Advice to Management

Give everyone a chance to use good leads once in a while to show how productive they can be. There should be more incentives here. How about the chance to earn $35 for every 50 contacts. There are a lot of talented sales people but, unless they have the tools they become nothing more than automatons.

    Pros

schedule can be built around other things, commissions sometimes actually happen, mostly leave you alone if you are making money or dial quota, not too much hand holding or micro management unless a job is slumping, staff is generally friendly and helpful, free coffee (folgers brewed strong and weak depending on the maker--50/50 house preference), predicatable workers are rewarded with predictable hours with the option to change them, will hire almost anyone and mostly let natural attrition shape the staff, then do it again when bodies are needed

    Cons

to quote a co-worker loosely "everybody here for a while has high level talent but something went terribly wrong in their career", a look at the posted job gross numbers show odds are weighted against you to make any significant money on a regular basis, "confident" newbies often crumble within the week--it's almost a comical archtype, clean freaks will want to wipe down their desk with provided alcohol or risk occasionally being covered in crumbs from rule breaking workers, n'joy coffee lightener is a cruel creamer substitute, calling out highly frowned (more than average) upon due to dependence on call hours, busy period means packed rooms with sporadic A/C and people running hot and cold depending on their internal thermometer

    Advice to Management

a case of creamers and a box of almond milk vs a case of n'joy would make life better, more cinnamon raisin bagels on saturday

    Pros

Free tickets, fellow callers were very friendly.

    Cons

Management plays favorites and Is verbally abusive. Lots of turnover, people are fired with little to no notice. Pay is very low.

    Advice to Management

Try to retain employees. Give employees the training and opportunities that they need to be successful.
