I worked at DFS Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great colleagues and sales staff on the floor, and young management trainees or Product Sales Managers are a joy to work with.

    Cons

Older workers at the company tend to be myopic in their views and are unable (or unwilling) to adapt to changing trends in this fast-moving travel retail industry. Tend to nitpick on the smallest of issues that don't affect sales such as whether your skirt is the right length, or if you're talking to a superior too informally. Bad place for people who prefer a flatter structure. They will always ask you to ask questions but when you do, you get called out for not knowing what to do as a new employee, or never respond to your emails and then berate you for not calling out an issue when you sent an email weeks ago. General fear and mistrust of management, especially the older workers. Airport environment (especially in sales) can be toxic if you don't have the right supervisor, and explains the high turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

Please take a look at the senior staff and review them, especially those whose teams tend to have a high turnover rate. If people are constantly leaving then something is probably wrong somewhere, and HR should find out what is.
