    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at DICK'S Sporting Goods part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you show up for work, do the simple work management asks of you and stay busy you will get a lot of hours and consistent raises/promotions. Positive low stress work environment, at least until you get into management. Good health insurance even for part timers.

    Cons

Compared to other retail jobs, jobs, the pay scale set by corporate is too low, as is the 25% associate discount because it excludes much of what the company sells.

    Advice to Management

Pay at hiring should not be based on retail experience alone, but also customer service experience and experience in activities the store caters to. If they worried less about payroll and more about sufficient coverage on the sales floor there would be more return customers, more product sold, and less customer theft.
