Pros

Free DIRECTV, decent benefits. The health plan is great. It's a good place to start off your career. The managers in our department are laid back and are great with letting us take time off.

Cons

It's hard to get promoted. A lot of hiring is done from outside of the company. There doesn't seem to be a lot of respect towards young employees working hard to make the company better.

Advice to Management

Start promoting from within. Try to change culture of a company. A minimum of positions should be filled with people who are already directv employees. Employees should be encouraged to apply, not threatened.

    Pros

DIRECTV is the best entertainment in the world, being a part of the Revolution is rewarding accross all platforms.

    Cons

You cannot expect to join the team and expect to become the boss immediately. As with all career choices, time must be spent within the industry before this type of reward is available. You must learn your profession, especially the Satellite TV world.

    Advice to Management

Train, train and then train some more. Technical training is not something learned in a short period of time, CSR's and Technicians must be dedicated individuals with a technical background with the expectation to make DIRECTV their choice for a career.

    Pros

Benefits are fantastic, free service included!!

    Cons

    Office politics, favoritism, measly raises...

    Advice to Management

Although the benefits are great, the payscale needs improvement. Too many employees are more concerned with job security than executing the companys goals. There is a tendency to be very secretive about one's skillset or job function so that you can protect your job. The office is a very politically charged atmosphere with alot of people "jockeying" for the next set of promotions. Promotions seem to be the only way to get a "real" bump in salary, and it seems there are only so many promotions to go around, whether they have been earned or not.
