Pros

Training was so much fun, we even had time to Celebrate coworkers birthdays.
4 week training.
"Free cable" $40 dlls discount which can cover most of the bill.

Cons

Dealing with customers with heavy accent... Specially when working graveyard you will get calls from 1 am to 5 am.
They will force you to get their service with a 2 yr agreement and if you leave the company you will be stuck with them.
They are in constant ending contracts with channels and when you have a bigger name company wanting to raise their prices DISH simply cuts them off and we have to deal with angry customers not getting their shows.

Advice to Management

Micromanagement does not work well for the company. Management are in desperately need of educated personal and not someone that just had his/her High School diploma.

I have been working at DISH full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Get to be on your own all day and drive around while listening to music/podcasts.

    Cons

Pay is low and tough to get a raise with hard metric goals. 12 hr days. Higher ups give orders in how to do a job even when it makes no sense. "Pi" metrics are hard to log into since they keep moving it around to different websites and sometimes the numbers don't seem to be true.

    Advice to Management

    Act like you care.

I worked at DISH full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Unmatched feelings of joy and liberation when you no longer work there.

    Cons

Culture (watch the movie "From Dusk Till Dawn" as a reference), looks sexy and inviting but you're in big trouble once you're locked inside.

    Advice to Management

I worked here for almost 8 years which turned out to be about 1 too many. The initial mom and pop type of culture was challenging but fun to work with, helping the company grow and develop. As the years went by the atmosphere morphed into a very greedy and ruthless environment where the senior level management team sought to expel free thinkers and respectful mid and lower level managers and replace them with psychophantic minions that operate in automaton fashion. The employee churn and dissatisfaction with this company are off the charts due to the company's attitude which is that they can never ask you to do too much or pay you too little to do it. If your young and seeking experience you will get it here but it will take its toll, just remember this place is just a pit stop and not a career - No one retires from Dish!
