I have been working at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute full-time (More than 8 years)

Pros

Good benefits, interesting work, passionate people

Cons

Top-down management style, hierarchal instead of collegial, culture depends on department and this varies widely across the Institute

    Pros

Notoriety, great equipment. Lots of money to throw around for ideas and reagents etc. A nice place to learn a lot of different techniques.

    Cons

Pay is far less than industry. Early on this isn't too bad, as it is great for a resume, but if you aren't looking to go to grad school I would recommend going into industry. You'll easily make $10,000-$20,000 more per year.

I worked at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This company helped me start my career. It gave me a great foundation when I went to obtain entry level regulatory affairs jobs.

    Cons

This pay is not that great but they do give a sub. commuter pass. My manager was alright, but I learned the most from my peers. Be ready to learn on your own as there is not much instruction.
