I worked at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute full-time

Pros

I've never worked anywhere in which everyone in the organization is so passionate about the mission (in this case, curing cancer and doing everything possible to make cancer patients' lives easier). From top to bottom, the organization truly cares.

Cons

As with many larger organizations, the bureaucracy and red tape are substantial. As much as people want to eliminate these issues, there is no commitment from leadership to make the organization function efficiently and effectively together. As a result, each departments tends to run in their own direction.

Advice to Management

Maintain commitment to patients and care but simplify the working environment.

I worked at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Has a great work culture, you get fairly compensated, plus you get to hear about the latest breakthroughs in cancer

    Cons

Often very busy. Commuting in can be time consuming and expensive. Its often intimidating being around harvard doctors with MD/PhDs.

  2. "The work environment is fine"
