Pros

This is the most extreme management culture you are likely to encounter. Learn fast, take the money while it lasts and get out.

Cons

Upper management are selected as ' insecure over achievers, moved away from their families and pitched against employees. Don't believe you are dealing with balanced people, they have no interest in/respect for employees and are tied to Danaher via massive stock options.
If you reject the culture imposed on you, you will be paid to leave ie. you boss will sacrifice you - there is a separate corporate budget for redundancies that doesn't effect your companies bottom line!

Advice to Management

I hope it is worth all the misery that is caused, or is it just that if you didn't do it, someone else would.

    Pros

Wall Street darling status good for management portfolios

    Cons

Management only cares about fattening stock price so they can cash out ridiculous option grants - but will let employees go at any time to make numbers.

    Advice to Management

You are all multimillionaires yet you slash jobs every time you acquire a company, Send Larry in there and let him explain why he needs to get rich and fly around in a private jet while handing walking papers to each employee. Gutless management.

    Pros

Danaher is a good place to be from. I value the relationships I have been able to develop over the years with my peers. I still stay in contact with them and, in fact, work with those who have left the company before me.

    Cons

Employees are constantly required to report. A company clearly obsessed with gathering data relative to performance will only inhibit performance itself.

    Advice to Management

Get out of the way and let people do their jobs. Reduce the amount of reporting required monthly. The objective information reported monthly can be obtained via the many tools which exist within the organization for gathering data. Repetative regurgitation of data adds no value.
