I have been working at Darden part-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Flexible hours, allowed 2 free sides while working, and free drinks

Cons

Training is almost nonexistent. I let all new cooks borrow my training book due to the failure of management to give the proper training materials and training curriculum. Extremely unprofessional work environment.

Advice to Management

I could write a book about this topic, but i prefer not to be looked at as crazy.

I have been working at Darden full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Financial security, a very high quality company and in the past pretty good benefits. I have been a part of one of the better performing brands in the company and I think I have a solid track record of positive performance within the organization.

    Cons

Can be very political, a few of the brands are under performing so the usual panic of the day mentality can be present. It can also at times be tough to disconnect from wont, get away for a vacation and have a life.

    Advice to Management

CHILL OUT - and focus on the emerging, good brands. Also, find some type of quick casual concept, the under 30 crowd is not going to Olive Garden or Red Lobster.
