I worked at Darden part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I like that the schedule could be flexible and could work around spouses schedule or another job situation. I make a decent amount of money working on the weekends.

    Cons

I felt that the managers all had favorites an it was very obvious by scheduling and sections provided. The managers lack a sense of compassion for most of their employees.

    Advice to Management

    treat every fairly

I worked at Darden as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Extensive training, room for advancement, encouragement by staff and management, Darden Dimes is a wonderful benefit.

    Cons

Disorganized shifts, no end times for shifts, and communication could be better at the beginning of shifts to advise the waitstaff of menu items that are not available. Also, if you need to change your availability for any other reason other than going to school, they will not allow it.

    Advice to Management

Make "86"ed items a point of priority during talk ins, allow employees to change their availability for reasons other than going to school. Working parents have children in school, and that should also be a consideration.
