Business Outlook
Pros
- Great benefits package, including 401k matching
- Some standout coworkers who are great to work with
- Strong mission driven company, though losing some of that focus post-IPO
- Some exciting projects
Cons
- Attrition is awful, especially in engineering. I've seen entire teams gutted by departures, largely because good work isn't sufficiently rewarded with promotions.
- No cash bonuses, and stock refreshes have been severely lacking
- Engineering leadership continues to be committed to hiring outside managers and leaders, and has a poor track record of promoting engineers internally. This further contributes to the talent drain.
- Leadership is often thrashing between different strategies, fully committing people and resources to the next big thing, while abandoning previous projects. Also this isn't done in an experimental or incremental way. New ideas are committed to all-in, then abandoned if they don't immediately show results
