I have been working at Dave & Buster's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Tips are good as a server. Meet a lot of interesting people

    Cons

Schedule is completed using politics. Long Term employees are in no way rewarded. If you are tipped employee you are not eligible for raises. Schedule has been adapted to 28 hours per week to cut insurance from employees before ObamaCare starts in 2014. As a female you will feel uncomfortable at many times with the way managers harass you, and the kitchen staff yells and used profanity and vulgar comments.

    Advice to Management

Grow up. Take some management classes on communication, sexual harassment, and employee relations.

    I worked at Dave & Buster's full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work here will give you a good mix of restaurant, unique venue and events background while also experiencing working with a very large staff. If you take the time to learn as much about the operations and your market as possible, it makes the sales of events very easy and financially rewarding. D&B has a rich culture and also believes in promoting from within when possible

    Cons

Ever since the first sale to an investment company, the internal structure (and ownership) has been constatly changing making it difficult to feel stable in your job. There is no commission structure for the SEM position; it's all or none based on hitting your monthly budget. This is acceptable in the sales world but really hurts in months like December when you work your tail-end off and might not get a dime. If you aren't able to move it's very difficult to advance your career.
