I worked at DeVry University full-time (More than 5 years)

Pros

Great benefits package, great staff at the local campuses most doing their jobs as best as they can. Years ago there was opportunities for growth.

Cons

The current environment is much different, with very high pressure and stressful environment locally. Has become more of a corporation and less of an educational environment

Advice to Management

Stop speaking the language of an employer of choice and begin to ACT like an employer of choice. Invest in your people and their morale, they will be the turnaround the company needs.

I have been working at DeVry University full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Negotiating an entry salary during the application and hiring process is somewhat easy for someone seeking employment.

    Cons

Training is terrible; upper management is COMPLETELY disconnected with the needs of each campus or individual employee; one person/position will be expected to perform tasks of 3-4 different jobs; cut employees and increase workloads at the same time.

    Advice to Management

Get out of your glass office and LISTEN to your employees; stop being bean counters and realize that you have PEOPLE working for you, not machines or robots.

I have been working at DeVry University full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I have some great co-workers, though they're all jumping ship at record rates.

    Cons

No room for growth. Despite some other reviews, pay is only somewhat comparable to other higher ed institutions. People are quitting quickly, yet no rehires so work is piling up. Overwhelming to say the least.

    Advice to Management

Your staff can't help your students if they're buried in paperwork continuously. A staff never feeling like they're caught up is NOT GOOD! You will continue to lose really good people who are really good at what they will do. Other companies will value their contributions.
