I worked at DeVry University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good place to begin one's work life. Get your feet wet with the every day routine of going to work. Training provided. Benefits fair.

    Cons

If one does have experience the micromanagement gets old. One would not want to stay in this position for long.

    Advice to Management

While evaluating the performance of an Admission Advisor, have a unbiased, trained person listen to calls and provide training. Do not rely on the day-to-day managers.

I worked at DeVry University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Was able to gain experience working with college students. Met some really cool co-workers who became friends. Many different responsibilities to add to my resume.

    Cons

Terrible work life balance. Constantly adding job responsibilities. Shortly after I left they extended office hours to 9pm which would keep an employee at work all day. It was horrible for people who had families. They also started forcing employees to work on "alternate holidays".

    Advice to Management

Management wants to appear discriminating with its hiring process by requiring way too many interviews including an interview with the President just for a mediocre job. That should stop. Also, it is clear to the students of the college that the school is poorly run. Management needs to revamp the whole organization and start over.
