I have been working at Deaconess (More than 3 years)

Pros

The company culture is a rare family environment.. Everyone really is considered family and the company truly care's about their employees. They want what's best for the company however they reward and care about those that make it great. The company is based upon great structure and values. There are numerous programs and perks that come alone with employment. It is a large company, therefore lots of room for advancement. Deaconess supports the advancement of their employees. Deaconess continues to grow and is the largest employer in the tri-state. Clinically speaking, there is plenty to brag about.

Cons

Benefits could be improved upon.

Advice to Management

Keep doing what your doing. Deaconess has a great reputation and continues to grow.

I have been working at Deaconess full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Work within Deaconess Clinic (office),
    Location
Physicians and most staff I work with are dedicated and caring individuals who strive to help each patient regardless of anything else.
No weekends and most Holidays off

    Cons

Clinic Nurse Salary is average to below average.
Clinic Management - things change with the wind, not reliable and I have learned not to trust them.
Benefits - the lack there off and the quality of the ones they do provide.
Increasing corporate mindset not as focused on the value of good employees.
Increasing corporate emphasis of statistics and numbers vs care and quality of care - more about the $$.

    Advice to Management

Remember that although you are a corporation you are there to serve the community (that includes your employees) and the people (patients) in it - That is as much about health CARE as it is about the $. Compassion (caring) in action should not only be an employee motto when dealing with those we serve but fluid throughout the corporation.
