I worked at Dell full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Smart people, diligent staff that works hard

    Cons

Very much a grind, HUGE inequities in pay and incentives between senior mgt. and staff, strategy from the top is not understood through the ranks, vast amounts of red tape, focus is always on cost and not the customer!!!

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Dell full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Lots of great people to work with and learn by
    Solid strategy and focused leadership
    International exposure

    Cons

HQ in Texas means more difficult to get top jobs when internationally based
Unfortunately politics is building-up, so work your relationship and learn how to manage-up

    Advice to Management

Develop an indipendent talent development function, today too much is left to business units
Seek talent from within, there is a lot and it's easier to promote than to hire
