I have been working at Dell full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

Good Pay, Good Benefits, Good People, Flexible Work Hours

Cons

Dell is managed from the bottom up, and is in its "teenage years," so the strategy and vision is still maturing.

Advice to Management

Mimic the leadership of companies that are not "in their teenage years." Make an intranet that can be effectively searched. Value company wide unified tools and services. Lead from the top down. Oppose policy that creates silos. Figure out how to make a big company feel like a small company.

I worked at Dell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

not a bad bunch of people; the folks on the phone were OK to work with.
Managers did their best, given the pressure.
    We had fun, sometimes, even.

    Cons

I was not provided with training, past the first month, so my Windows Skills lapsed.
My offers to help with their VOIP efforts went unnoticed.
My pay never got over $25 per hour, even after 5 years.

    Advice to Management

    provide some support for workers.
Show some compassion along with the Meritocracy.
    Training wouldn't hurt.
