I worked at Dell full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great to place to work, very fair to all employees at all levels. Hard work, and ambition were always rewarded, without having to marginalize the rest of the team(s) or other individuals within the organization. Very clear and concise paths for promotion in many areas of the organization.

    Cons

Very risk adverse, sometimes too risk adverse.

I have been working at Dell full-time

    Pros

My co-workers have for the most part, been fantastic. Knowledgeable, skilled, and creative are just a few words that begin to describe them.

    Cons

Huge disconnects exist between the people actually doing the work and the managers managing the people doing the work. Lack of communication, cooperation, and collaboration among/across the different lines of business leads to an us versus them mentality.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people that you hired for their expertise. Take into account what they have to say. Implement NEW ideas to actually be innovative instead of talking about being innovating in the same breath as "this is how we've always done it."
