Pros

You can definitely do whatever you want at Dell! They are extremely supportive of any initiatives you come up with. The benefits are great. There is no micromanagement. You can even work from home often if there's no need to be in the office. I greatly appreciate the flexibility in my job!

Cons

Things are always changing. Because of this, there is no easy way to learn how to get things done. Also, most projects are managed laterally, which leads to a lack of accountability without escalating issues.

Advice to Management

Pick a process and let it stay a while after implementation to see if it really works. Change is good, but only if it;s given time to make its intended progress.

    Pros

I thought the benefits and pay were better than average, but the working conditions could have been better. I would have liked better/clearer instructions on job responsibilites as well as better communication between work groups.

    Cons

Better communication needed between work groups.
Bad morale with method and frequency of layoffs.

    Advice to Management

Stabilize the employment pool. Make the employees feel more like they want to be working there instead of needing to work there.

    Pros

the client and some of my co-workers.

    Cons

low pay, no bonuses, incompetent management, lack of education and training but an expected to implement anyway, lack of support from management, unrealistic SLAs, being asked to work overtime off the clock without pay, being paged every 15 minutes for a bogus alert and still expected to respond, unethical company, asked to lie, lack of trust between management and employees, people being terminated with no cause, high turnover rate, employees not being able to discuss issues for fear of being terminated. They give you a values card........don't believe one word of it.

    Advice to Management

go back to working at Burger King or whever it was you were working before. Technology is not the same industry and should not be managed the same. The clients hate you, the employees hate you. Does that give you a clue?
