I worked at Dell full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Health benefits, 401k, your immediate coworkers, employee discounts

    Cons

Politics, Frequent Reorganizations, Pay is under industry standards for the amount of work completed, tendency to have a 2 to 3 year clean out of employees, and upper management is so by the book that new ideas are pushed aside. Cuts have hurt the customer and associate relationships, more distant in short. Bottom line you cannot trust senior management, direction, or have room to develop. Just be aware this is big business and you are just number, job security is scarce. Competitors are three steps ahead for the future of IT vs Dell.

    Advice to Management

Consider not having management that is dry and unwilling to develop his or her teams. Work on quality not quantity.
