Pros

The benefits are good since the union is a powerful force in contract negotiations. Delta Dental takes its social responsibility seriously in terms of improving employee wellness and minimizing waste.

Cons

There's low morale since system upgrades has meant several rounds of down-sizing. With an organizational structure that spans several states, it's possible that you won't actually see your boss or colleagues in person.

I worked at Delta Dental Plans Association full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This company runs a tight ship. Everything you do is tracked; but all are held accountable. Competitive compensation and great benefits. HR is very approachable. They have a true Team-player environment. Probably one the few companies that have a yearly bonus incentive. They are also very community-oriented, with volunteering opportunities and supporting charities.

    Cons

They need to offer more cross-training opportunities. Also, more follow-up after the yearly reviews. I was supposed to have "one-on-one" monthly review meetings with my supervisor, but they never happened.

    Advice to Management

Again, more opportunities for cross-training, learning, growth and career development.

work-life balance is outstanding, set your own hours in most departments

    Cons

get a supervisor who doesn't live to work, otherwise you will be the only people in the office on the weekend.
