I worked at Deluxe Entertainment full-time (More than a year)

Pros

- There are things you can learn about media business
- There are some talented people with great attitude (only few..)
- Free bagel on Thursday.

Cons

- Endless overtime with no extra pay.
- Deluxe tends to over-commit work, which exceeds work capacity. And they force employee to work on weekend and do massive overtime - and therefore, they usually hire people with salary base (so they don't have to pay overtime / weekend ).
- Lots of nepotism and favoritism on mid-level management. Too much of politics going on.
- Engineers get no work-life balance.
- HR is NOT there to help their employee. They are on the employer side- So be careful.

Advice to Management

- Treat your employee better.
- Put some talented people at mid-level management. Promotion process is mostly a joke.

    I worked at Deluxe Entertainment full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Montreal Qc, centrally located downtown, good benefits, fun and young team that keeps energy high and lively.

    Cons

    Expect LOTS of overtime, 10-20 hours per week during extremely busy periods. Promotions and salary raises take a very long process. Colleagues in India are extremely overworked - frustrations - during restructuring period, unstable job.

    Advice to Management

    Be honest to your employees. If you are going to lay off people to cut costs, go ahead, but don't treat the ones who stay, like slaves!

    Pros

    Nice people, ok benefit package

    Cons

    Some people there should not be managers. Does not want to be bothered with anything and
    does not train properly. Required to know everything and cannot get help if you need it. Will give you attitude if you need help with something.

    Advice to Management

    Get managers who will listen and will help you instead of scold you. Needs managment who would be good mentors not someone who just sits and does nothing and who is lazy.
