No opinion of CEO

Pros

Only 36 hours a week.
Lots of opportunities to train (around 2-3 weeks worth a year and seminars every other week).
Flexible working i.e. I work 9 days a fortnight.
There is very generous parental leave.
Stress free!

Cons

Pay is OK at first but with little growth or bonus.
Some bad managers.
Not good for ambitious young professionals; much more suitable for a person with commitments.

Advice to Management

Give ambitious people a challenge and reduce the hierarchy.

    Pros

Big department, with lots of opportunities to do different things right across the PSG spectrum, particularly heavy on delivery. Good work life balance, mostly, and a very well developed Management and Leadership development program,

    Cons

Long hours tend to be unrewarded when they happen (but flipside is flexi, 6 weeks annual leave, variety of staff incentives), some areas of the business are incredibly hierarchical and ageist (need to 'serve your time')

    Advice to Management

Not much really - lose the focus on rigidity and making sure everyone's doing the same thing at the same time, find a way to exploit the long tail from an organisation of 120,000 people.

    Pros

Safe place to work when in recession. People to work with are great.

    Cons

90% of the time its only a very short contract which will put people off. If you work hard they tend to keep you on. But usually only on longer temp contracts.

    Advice to Management

Good team overall, they are really good with their staff.
