I worked at Department of Energy & Climate Change full-time

    Pros

You worked with people who cared about dealing with climate change. There was a lot of expertise in the building and it was small enough that you could reasonable expect to know a lot of the department.

    Cons

General politicking, with both a small 'p' and a big 'p'. Ministers who failed to understand how details of policies.

    Advice to Management

Try and keep DECC's spirit and role alive now that it has been subsumed into BEIS. Energy policy is not a branch of business policy.
